Personal Data Protection Law

The fact that access to information becomes easier with the advancement of technology supports positive developments as well as harbors great risks. Today, government agencies and private establishments collect, store, process and transmit a significant amount of data about individuals. All this leads to the fact that people lose control of their information, which leads to the formation of many dangerous situations, such as its use against people. Protection of personal data is a right of individuals against unauthorized use of their data by other persons or organizations. With the adoption of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6098 (KVKK), a new era has begun in our country, and the aforementioned Law has provided the citizens with certain rights against the natural and legal persons defined as data controllers, and has also brought some obligations to the data controllers. These obligations concern the information processing and human resources departments of companies in particular.

In order to ensure compliance with KVKK, as Arı Attorney’s Office, we offer our clients the following:

• In order to ensure full compliance with the obligations within the scope of KVKK, services such as Determination and analysis of the obligations that clients are subject to within the scope of KVKK,
• Providing the necessary cooperation with IT departments at the stage of creating data recording systems that clients should use in order to fulfill the relevant obligations and providing the necessary support in terms of aligning the data recording systems currently in use with the obligations under KVKK,
• Preparation and/or revision of contracts that clients must conclude with their clients or business partners in accordance with the KVKK,
• Providing in-company awareness trainings to all relevant departments (law, HR, IT, marketing, public relations, etc.) within the Data Controller, for each of our clients,
